- As guilt starts to affect Bartek, he decides to confess to the police. Kacper, realizing this, kills Bartek to protect himself. He tries to make Bartek’s death look like a suicide, but this only causes more problems. His friend Marek becomes fearful and tries to kill Kacper, but Kacper kills Marek in self-defense.
- Kacper knows that he can’t escape the law forever. He eventually goes to the police and makes a partial confession, blaming his friends for most of the crime. He tries to claim he only killed Marek to protect himself. However, the detective Tadeusz doesn’t believe him and continues to pressure Kacper.
- Kacper’s past reveals more about why he committed the crime. He grew up as an orphan after his mother’s suicide and has a younger sister named Ewa. Kacper always wanted to take care of Ewa, but couldn’t manage it due to his financial struggles. His desperation to provide for her led him to plan the robbery.
- As the investigation closes in, Kacper tries to run. Despite his attempts to hide, Tadeusz eventually tracks him down. Kacper spends his last moments with his sister, Ewa, knowing he can’t escape anymore. In the end, he deliberately provokes the police into shooting him, ending his life.
